Nicole Prieto is a registered physiotherapist who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2011. She has worked in various fields of physiotherapy – including paediatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, and women’s health.

Nicole developed a strong passion for working with families when she began her career as a physio for children with developmental disabilities. She currently sees people of all ages and is passionate about empowering her patients to live a good quality of life.

To best serve the families under her care, Nicole pursued further training in mechanical (manual) therapy, paediatric neurodevelopmental therapy, and most recently, pelvic health physiotherapy. Her keen interest in women’s health and pregnancy was developed through her frequent interactions with new moms and moms-to-be. This kindled a fascination with the wonderful changes and challenges that a woman’s body goes through within the perinatal months. She obtained training and certification for pelvic floor physiotherapy through pelvic health solutions, and is continuing to pursue further knowledge in women’s health, nutrition and wellness.

Physiotherapy

Involves the assessment of the function and integrity of different body components such as muscles, joints, ligaments, and nerves, to understand how they manifest as symptoms that may affect a person’s quality of life.

Changes in these areas can lead to issues with mobility, pain, balance concerns, and decreased strength. Through targeted exercise, activity or behaviour modification, and the use of modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound, the capacity of the body to heal is facilitated – and the person is enabled to return to their regular activities.
