PILATES MAT & REFORMER TEACHER TRAINING SUMMER SCHOOL

This course is great for those already working in fitness or movement who might not have the time to join a weekend training due to teaching or busy schedules.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Created as a summer school intensive, we will review Pilates anatomy, alignment and movement principles. We will build upon basic classical mat repertoire showing you how to transpose mat to apparatus, as well as create and lead intermediate to advanced Classical Pilates mat, Reformer Essential and Intermediate level Pilates classes.

Whether you’re training individuals or groups, you’ll learn to design sessions that are effective, engaging, and tailored to your clients’ needs.

By the end of the certification, you’ll have a solid foundation and all the tools you need to succeed.
TRAINING
- This training has 3 modules.
- Each course module is taken over a 5 day weekday format from 1-5pm, Modules can be taken individually.
- All 3 modules must be completed along with practical and written exam for full certification.
- Class is taught live in person at our Toronto studio.
- Manual and Certificate of Course Completion Included after each module are completed with practical and written exam
- A minimum of 70% is required to pass written and practical exam.
- We do not offer this course online it is in person only to ensure a comprehensive and thorough education.
- We prioritize small class size trainings to provide high-quality, personalized instruction.
PREREQUISITES
- Pre requisite : Pilates Mat 1 ( PMI) or equivalent
- A minimum of 30 hours previous anatomy study such as Fitness certification, etc.
- If you do not have 30 hours of anatomy training, we recommend 30 hours of independent study of the book Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germaine or another anatomy book of your choice.
REQUIREMENTS
- 150 hours of personal practice,
- 50 hours observation
- 100 practice teaching hours in addition to course
- Individual practice and practice teaching hours will be in studio
- Recommended duration for completion 4-6 months
- Final Comprehensive Exam (scheduled separately after completion of practical hours)
COST
- $847.50 +HST monthly. Payment is monthly autopay (for 3 months)should you require any assistance or have any questions please contact studio Director
- Exam cost: $175 +HST
- All manuals & additional handouts Included. All manuals are part of Liberty Movement Phrontistery Curriculum

MODULE ONE

Module ONE: Reformer Essentials
- 25 classroom hours
- Covers foundational Pilates principles
- Comprehensive Anatomy for Pilates
- Introduction to essential Pilates Reformer exercises
- Emphasis on technique, alignment, and safety
- Learn effective cueing and class planning
- Ideal for new Pilates instructors or movement professionals
MODULE TWO
Monday-Friday
1:00-5:00pm
July 14 – July 22
Module TWO: Reformer Intermediate
- 25 classroom hours
- Builds on foundational Reformer skills with expanded repertoire and intermediate-level exercises.
- Deepens understanding of Anatomy and its applications to technique, alignment, and progression.
- Enhanced cueing strategies, class sequencing, and client adaptation.
- Strengthens knowledge of Pilates principles in practice.
- Designed for instructors with basic Reformer training or experience.
MODULE THREE
Monday-Friday
1:00-5:00pm
July 23 – July 31st
Module THREE: Practical Application
- 25 classroom hours
- Focus on integrating and applying full Reformer repertoire in real-world teaching scenarios.
- Emphasizes hands-on practice, advanced cueing, and
- Understanding Advanced client assessment techniuques
- . Develops confidence in class programming, modifications, and multi-level instruction.
- Ideal for instructors ready to refine their teaching skills and deepen their practical experience.
