Postnatal Fitness Classes

Postnatal fitness classes are designed for parents who want to get fit with their baby. You can register for a single class series below. Alternately you can Purchase Unlimited Me & Babe unlimited monthly pass and take all our postnatal classes and some adult classes to get back into shape with your baby and on your own for “me”  time!

All classes  consists of a workout followed by a discussion about various relevant postnatal topics. Meet other parents and babies from the neighbourhood and get fit at the same time!  New parents can participate regardless of prior experience. Classes are all 4-week pre-registered series  or option to take unlimited classes. Drop in anytime during a session!

Me & Babe at Liberty Movement
Our Me & Babe program at Liberty Movement is where postpartum strength meets smart, thoughtful training. We combine the best of yoga, Pilates, and functional lifting with clear, evidence-informed instruction designed specifically for moms. Learn how to move safely, rebuild your core, and regain strength—while understanding why each exercise matters for your postpartum recovery.

Meet Elle and Emily

With over 18 years of experience supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I bring a deeply informed and holistic approach to every class I teach. As a birth doula, childbirth educator, pre- and postnatal yoga and Pilates teacher trainer, studio director, and current student of Traditional Chinese Medicine, my work is rooted in helping mothers feel strong, supported, and deeply connected to their bodies through every stage of motherhood.

Alongside me is Emily Fleurant, a compassionate postpartum doula and yoga teacher whose nurturing presence and reverence for mother-centered care beautifully complement our program. Emily has supported families with newborns, premature babies, twins, and infants through the first year of life, offering grounded, practical care with warmth and intuition.

Together, we’ve created a thoughtful and empowering postpartum movement program designed for real mothers and real recovery. Our classes blend evidence-informed movement, breathwork, functional strength, restorative practices, and mindful support to help you rebuild from the inside out.

Reformer Ready: Postpartum Core Rehabilitation

 

A 5-Week Pilates  Springboard / Tower Series for Postpartum Recovery

Reconnect to your core, rebuild strength, and return to movement with confidence in this supportive small-group postpartum Pilates series designed specifically for new mothers.

Using the Pilates Springboard/Tower and small apparatus, this 5-week workshop focuses on deep core rehabilitation, pelvic floor connection, posture, breath, mobility, and functional strength to help you heal and rebuild safely after pregnancy and birth.

Ideal for postpartum clients at any stage — including those recovering from a C-section or navigating diastasis recti and core weakness — this program offers an intelligent and approachable transition back into exercise while preparing you for Reformer Pilates classes and ongoing fitness training.

Each session is thoughtfully guided with individualized attention, modifications, and evidence-informed movement tailored to the unique needs of the postpartum body.

In This Series You Will:

• Restore deep core and pelvic floor function
• Improve posture, stability, and alignment
• Build strength safely using Pilates Tower resistance training
• Increase mobility and body awareness
• Learn breath and core connection techniques
• Prepare confidently for Reformer Pilates and regular fitness classes

Me & Babe – Barre Fusion 

This barre class is done with your baby. Barre focuses on posture core strength and flexibility. Inspired by a blend of ballet, strength training, and Pilates, barre-style classes use the ballet barre and a variety of equipment. The results? A long, lean, and strong body. New moms can participate regardless of prior experience but need to be prepared to work!

    Me & Babe – Lift, flow and Stretch 

    This is an energizing, intermediate-level class designed for parents and caregivers ready to rebuild strength and stamina after baby. This dynamic class combines functional strength training, low-impact cardio, and targeted mobility work to support postpartum recovery while increasing overall fitness. Core and pelvic floor integration is emphasized, alongside movements to release common areas of tension such as the shoulders, hips, and back.

    Babies (pre-crawling) are welcome to join—either incorporated into the workout or resting nearby. This class offers a motivating and supportive environment for those looking to reconnect with their bodies and feel strong again after birth.

    Me & Babe – STROLLERFIT

    Join us every Wednesday at 10:00 AM in beautiful Dovercourt Park for StrollerFit — a fun, supportive, and energizing outdoor fitness class designed especially for moms and babies. This low-impact cardio-based workout combines power walking, strength training, mobility, core work, and functional movement to help you rebuild strength and stamina postpartum while connecting with other mothers in community.

    Bring your stroller, your baby, and move at your own pace in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. Whether you’re newly postpartum or further along in your motherhood journey, all fitness levels are welcome.

     Join anytime throughout the season!

    If you are unable to attend a class that you’ve signed up for, please give us a minimum of 12- hour notice, otherwise your class will be debited from your account. We would appreciate receiving as much notice as possible.

    • Cancellations may be done online by logging into your account, over the phone or email.
    • Schedule is subject to change with or without notice.

    Studio Etiquette

    • Please arrive 10 minutes before class to allow time to sign in and register
    • Please turn OFF your phone  there is phone use allowed in class
    • Please refrain from wearing scents/perfume to avoid allergy sensitivity for others.
    • We practice Yoga and Pilates barefoot; please remove socks and shoes outside the studio. Toe grip socks are available for purchase if needed.
    • We wash mats and props weekly, and students wipe them down after each use. They're free to use, but you may bring your own mat if preferred.
    • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and are a breathable material.
    • Yoga & Pilates are practiced on an empty stomach; avoid eating 2 hours before class.
    • If leaving early, take savasana first, then quietly exit, leaving props/mat behind. Do not leave during savasana to avoid disrupting others.
