with Dr. Melissa Chan, ND
Dr. Melissa Chan, ND, is a licensed and board-certified Naturopathic Doctor. She has been in practice for 5 years and has a keen interest in fertility, pregnancy, and the post-partum period for pregnant people and their infants. Melissa uses clinical nutrition, diet, acupuncture/cupping (TCM), botanical medicine, and a wide variety of modalities in order to treat. She believes that healing the body can happen from a mixture of Eastern and Western philosophies rooted in both science and tradition.
Dr. Chan received a double Honours Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Psychology and Health Studies at McMaster University (Hamilton, ON). She worked for several years in the pharmaceutical industry, both in research and contract manufacturing, before returning back to school to receive a Doctor of Naturopathy degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Toronto, ON). She has worked in rural and international settings, from India to Yellowknife to Arizona, learning about the many ways to approach and understand health. In 2011, Dr. Chan became a birth doula and is currently in her second year as a student in the Ryerson Midwifery Program working with The Midwives Clinic of East York – Don Mills.
Melissa is CPR/NRP certified and am in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and is an integral part of our care team.
